During our trip to Echo Lake, the Big Agnes Lynx Pass 2 tent, passed the test. However, the same could not be said for the tent stakes. Some of the stakes became bent while trying to put them into somewhat soft ground.
So, I called Big Agnes to see if they would do anything about this issue. The woman who answered the phone was very nice. Instead of telling me what they would do, she asked me what I would like them to do. After hearing my issue, I was allowed to choose from any style stake I would like. I chose the J-Stake (a light, yet heavier duty stake).
I was surprised to encounter such great customer service. Most companies have poor customer service, and are only worried solely on how much money they can save when dealing with warranty issues. Any other company wouldn’t think twice about what the customer actually wanted or needed. Thankfully, Big Agnes is not like every other company. I can’t wait to get the new stakes and get back out on the trail.
